Founding team

Hello, hello, hola! We would like to take you through our adventure of Jungle the Bungle. Carolina (founder Jungle the Bungle): ?The idea was born in 2015 when my twins were 3 years old. I wanted to raise them multilingually, but then found out that there was no fun way to learn languages yet.? In 2020, Amber became co-owner and we joined forces to introduce as many parents and children as possible to this beautiful brand. We do this through our language app, the multilingual children's books and the songs!

Carolina

Hi, I am Carolina and the creator of this multilingual concept. Having been raised bilingual myself and having spoken both Dutch and Spanish at a young age, I have a great affinity with languages.

Amber

Hi, I'm Amber and co-founder of Jungle the Bungle. What I love about this concept is that it really has a purpose: equal opportunities for young children and contributing to their language development.

Our story

2015
Concept Jungle the Bungle.
In late 2015, the idea was born to develop something for young children to learn new languages in a fun and easy way. Carolina: ?Jungle the Bungle is especially fun and makes children happy. Children can recognise themselves in the different animals and their characters. In this way, children learn that everyone is different and that that is okay.' Jungle the Bungle supports equity for all children in the world. This is why for every product sold, we donate the same product to another child.

Multilingual books
In 2017, the first 2 books of Jungle the Bungle were launched. The book 'Eetfeest' in Dutch, English and Spanish which allows children to learn about numbers, colours and animals in the 3 languages. And the book 'The Adventure of Gravity' in Dutch and English in which children learn about gravity in a fun way. For every book we sell, we also donate a book.

Dragons Den
It is proven that Jungle the Bungle can grow into a beautiful and big brand by our participation in the preliminary rounds of Dragons Den. It only came our way a little too early. Just as well, taking part together with Monito was an important milestone for Jungle the Bungle.

Girl power
In July 2020, Amber came on board. Together, they form a strong duo. Carolina is a real rock in the business with a lot of experience at big companies including Disney. Amber has sustainability and caring for the planet at heart, as well as a strong online background. A great combination, because after the success of the books, the next step for Jungle the Bungle will be digital.

Beta version app
To find out whether children and parents would be interested in an app to learn a new language easily, we developed a beta version of the app. We received a lot of positive feedback. We are taking all the learnings into the current version we are developing.

Crowdfunding successful
In early 2022, we launched a crowdfunding campaign. Within six weeks, we had the funding in place and even went over the set target. More than 100 investors joined the Jungle the Bungle Family and together they invested over 100.000 euros. With that money, we are now building an incredibly cool and fun app together with app builder Hulan.

Test period
The soft launch of the app is scheduled for September 2023. During this period, we are testing heavily before shouting it from the rooftops. We are testing mainly with children between 2-8 years old, of course. The first reactions are promising!

Carolina

About me

Hi, I am Carolina and the creator of Jungle the Bungle. Because of my Spanish mother and Dutch father, I was raised bilingual. This allowed me to experience myself how special it is to speak a second language. The idea to start Jungle the Bungle came when I realized how young children learn languages effortlessly. As a mother of young twins at the time, I saw that there were not so many fun and easy ways to teach young children a new language. So the idea of developing something myself was born. There are now many studies showing that young children learn a new language incredibly easily. Until the age of 10, the part in your brain with which you learn languages is super active, after that it declines somewhat. After age 15, it is just as difficult to learn a new language as it is for an adult. I'm super proud that so many parents and children are made happy by Jungle the Bungle and that we can contribute to the positive development of young children.

Amber

About me

Hey, I'm Amber and co-founder of Jungle the Bungle. I spent over six years in the media worked as an (online) marketer and campaign manager. That's how I met Carolina and how my dream of being an entrepreneur came true. I currently freelance for various companies that want to make impact and be more conscious of business. I also bring this knowledge to the impact strategy of Jungle the Bungle.

What I love about this concept is that we are going for equity for all children. Voor every product sold, we also donate one to another child. Children are no longer dependent on what languages parents speak, but can learn a language themselves in a fun way through the app.

By the way, it offers so many opportunities to be able to speak multiple languages. The younger you are, the easier it is. I have always had a passion for travelling and different cultures and therefore also with languages. Besides, I find children such a fun target group because they are full of imagination and have a large world of experiences. We are planning many more great expansions, which will be even more fun for young children. So keep a close eye on the website!
