An average of 10–15 minutes per day is enough to see noticeable progress in children. The app can be used independently, meaning you as a teacher will hardly need any extra time.
Children learn over 500 basic words in 3 months. These are words that align with the BAK list and the target word list for group 3. They practice with themes that are recognisable in nursery school (such as family, food, animals, colours, school, emotions).
No. Jungle the Bungle is specifically designed for teachers who are not NT2 specialists but want to support non-native speaking children. The app guides the children completely, while you can monitor their progress in the teacher portal.
The app has been developed for children aged 2 to 8 and is perfectly suited for years 1 and 2 of primary school. Year 3 pupils with a language delay can also benefit greatly from it.
Yes, each child will receive their own player profile so they can continue practising at home. Progress will be automatically synchronised with the teacher's account.
No. Jungle the Bungle is ideal for children who don't speak Dutch as their first language and are learning Dutch, but it is also suitable for Dutch-speaking children who want to practise an extra language (English or Spanish). The app automatically adapts to the child's level.
You can try out the app in your classroom for 4 weeks for free. During this period, you will see exactly how many words each child has mastered and how their language comprehension is developing through the teacher account.

The app is available on Apple and Android tablets, and there's a web version for laptops and PCs. Therefore, no specific hardware is needed to get started.
After 4 weeks, you can decide whether you want to continue. There are no obligations and you are not tied to anything. If you wish to proceed, you can simply apply for a school license.
Yes. We regularly offer short webinars and step-by-step guidance/explanatory videos demonstrating how to effectively use the app in the classroom. This way, you can get started within a single day.
Yes. You can use Jungle the Bungle flexibly, for example in small groups or during language activities. Even with a few tablets, all children can practice in turn.

There could be several reasons why the web version is loading slowly. For example, the Chromebook might be older, have insufficient RAM, or the internet connection might not be strong enough.
We advise using the application via the browser Google Chrome and to check if it has been updated.
For proper functioning, a minimum of 4 GB RAM needed. Ideally, the device will have 8 GB RAM for an optimal experience.
Additionally, it may take a little longer to load the first time. It often goes faster on subsequent occasions.

Yes! Currently, you can choose Dutch, English or Spanish for both the base language (the language you may already master) and the target language (the language you want to learn). Even if you don't speak any of the three languages, you can use the app. Only the instructions when starting the app are in the basic language, but as the app works very intuitively, you don't really need these instructions.
Yes, more languages will eventually be added. Which ones these are and when is not yet clear. We expect to add languages such as French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Arabic and Polish within the next two years.
To learn a language well, it is important to engage with it at as many different times as possible. However, this does not have to be long. We recommend playing for 10-15 minutes every day. By playing regularly, children remember words and sentences better.
We encourage children to learn a language in different ways. The app is just one way. We also offer children's books and songs. Our advice is to use the app for 10-15 minutes a day.
We aim for a positive play and learning experience for every child, which is why we work with a back-end algorithm. The advantage of this is that each child learns at their own pace and level.
Yes! Besides the languages app on smartphone and tablet, a web version is now also available. However, the subscription must be purchased via the App Store or Play Store.
For now, you can only use the languages app if you have selected the Netherlands or Belgium as your country for your App Store or Play Store account. We are currently not available in other countries.
Yes indeed. Jungle the Bungle encourages children to learn languages through play in as many different ways as possible. Besides the app, we also offer books and songs to playfully learn English, Spanish or Dutch.
The most effective way to learn a new language is to play the app daily for 10-15 minutes. You learn a language faster by practising daily, which is why we recommend playing the languages app briefly every day instead of an hour or more once a week.
Building and maintaining the Jungle the Bungle language app is expensive. We also keep adding new games, songs, words, etc. on a regular basis. As the app is for children, we have chosen to keep it ad-free.
Jungle the Bungle donates the subscriptions to children whose parents cannot afford to subscribe to the app. We cooperate with the VoorleesExpress and VluchtelingenWerk Nederland for this purpose.
