Jungle the Bungle is een speelse, leerzame app die mijn jonge leerlingen zichtbaar motiveert. Het mooiste? Kinderen vragen ’s ochtends uit zichzelf of ze weer met de app mogen spelen. De opdrachten zijn uitdagend, leuk en passend bij de doelgroep, waardoor leren met plezier vanzelf gaat!

De app wordt succesvol ingezet bij NT2-leerlingen bij groep 1 t/m 4. Leerlingen leren spelenderwijs nieuwe Nederlandse woorden. Door de aantrekkelijke vormgeving, differentiatie, afwisselende spellen en geluiden zijn zij intrinsiek gemotiveerd. Een groot pluspunt is dat de woorden voorafgaand aan elk spel duidelijk worden uitgesproken, wat de woordenschatontwikkeling ondersteunt. De app is ook thuis goed te gebruiken. Kinderen kunnen zelfstandig of samen met hun ouders oefenen, wat niet alleen leerzaam is voor de leerlingen, maar ook ouders actief betrekt bij de taalontwikkeling. De communicatie met Jungle The Bungle verloopt vlekkeloos: er wordt gevraagd en geluisterd naar feedback en de app blijft ontwikkelen met gelijke kansen voor ieder kind als doel. Kortom, Jungle The Bungle is een motiverende en effectieve app waar leerkrachten, leerlingen en ouders zeer enthousiast over zijn!

Jungle the Bungle was immediately liked by the children. The programme is clear, playful and well applicable in the classroom. They were able to work with it independently and remained super motivated. So enthusiastic, in fact, that some of them continued working with it at home. Really nice to see!

Over the past few weeks, I had the opportunity to try out Jungle the Bungle in my newcomer class. The app was immediately well received by the children. The cheerful characters and games are very appealing and the reward system is motivating. As a teacher, I like that the app is adaptive and that pupils can continue practising Dutch independently and in a casual way. A plus is that they can also work with the app at home. I have therefore become enthusiastic and look forward to further developments of this language app!

In all our kindergarten groups, we use Jungle the Bungle to offer foreign-speaking and multilingual children additional support in learning the Dutch language. A big plus is that the app also allows children to expand their vocabulary at home. In addition, they find the game incredibly fun to play, which makes the learning process extra stimulating. A real win-win situation!

Interactive languages app

With the languages app, developed i.c.w. centre of expertise EarlyBird, children can playfully learn English, Spanish or Dutch. The great advantage is that each child learns at their own pace and level and can work on it individually. The app is designed for children aged 2-8.

As a school, you can use the language app for children who need extra challenges or for children who do not yet speak Dutch well.

Jungle the Bungle in the classroom

The languages app is available for Android and iOS tablets and chromebooks that support Android apps. A web version of the languages app will also be available later this year.
