Financial data
When you take out a membership, we also process financial data. With Jungle the Bungle, parents take out memberships via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. This is all done online and securely. Please view our privacy policy. Please refer to the privacy terms of the Apple Store and the Play Store for more information.
Jungle the Bungle invoices schools or foundations directly for school licenses. We use these personal details solely to process payments.
The use of these personal details is therefore necessary for the execution of the agreement between Jungle the Bungle and a parent or between Jungle the Bungle and the school.
- Accounts
School account
In the School Account, it is possible to monitor children's progress. In addition to the mandatory personal data from Chapter 2, the following personal data can be optionally provided:
- Username.
The provided data can always be adjusted. If an address has already been provided when terminating the membership, this data will automatically be in the account.
Children's account
A Child Account can be created per child via the Parent Account or School Account. The Child Account is fully visible via the School Account. When children play Jungle the Bungle via the Child Account, they naturally do not have access to the School Account.
Parents can create a maximum of three Child Accounts within the Parent Account. For each Child Account, the child's first name and date of birth can be entered. The date of birth is needed to determine a starting level for the child. In addition, the base language and target language can be entered here. The base language is the language that is already mastered, all instructions will be given in the base language and the settings will be in the base language.
Teachers can create the desired number of accounts for pupils within the School Account. Jungle the Bungle can do this for all schools. Teachers at a particular school can only view the data for that specific school.
All games are in the target language, the language the child wishes to learn. The use of this data is therefore necessary for the performance of the agreement between Jungle the Bungle and parents or schools.
Optional information (this applies to consumers only, not to schools/foundations)
In addition to the child's first name (or nickname) and date of birth, the following optional personal data can be provided in the Child Account. Parents can always adjust the provided data.
- Gender: we appreciate knowing children's gender, so we can address them correctly;
We use this personal data to tailor and personalise Jungle the Bungle as effectively as possible for children. We process this personal data based on our legitimate interest in making our services as easy, suitable, and useful as possible for parents, schools, and children alike.
Playing Jungle the Bungle
When children play Jungle the Bungle, we observe the following:
- Games played
- How many minutes the child played;
- How many questions the child answered correctly or incorrectly;
- The language level and progress of the child is determined through an algorithm. Multiple correct answers lead to an increase in level, while multiple incorrect answers lead to a decrease.
We also use this data in the School Account, so that schools have an overview of children's use of Jungle the Bungle. The use of this data is therefore necessary for the performance of the agreement between Jungle the Bungle and schools. Without this information, we cannot provide insight into children's results.

To personalise these messages, we can also use your name, the school's name, and the child's name.

You can also see how long the child has practiced a word category or theme and when the child last played Jungle the Bungle. The information is made available in the app and by email.
We process this information based on our legitimate interests to periodically provide parents with insight into the use of Jungle the Bungle by your child.
Service messages
We will also keep you informed about the development of our service. For example, when an expansion or update occurs, Jungle the Bungle will notify you by email. The use of your email address for these messages is necessary to inform you about the content of our service (and therefore the agreement with you). This includes reports, updates and upgrades, requests for reviews, etc.
Email tracking
In our e-mail messages, we use technologies to measure interactions with the messages (e.g. opening the e-mail or activating links). This is done using so-called pixels embedded in the messages. Through the pixels, we can read the following data: name and e-mail address of the recipient, confirmation that the recipient received and opened the e-mail, whether and which links were clicked on, IP address of the recipient and browser and operating system of the recipient. This allows us to optimise and further develop the content of our e-mail messages. We use the data in aggregated form and only for general statistical evaluations. The data is not merged with your other data.
The processing of this personal data is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests, namely to analyse the reach and relevance of our messages.
- Advertising
This only applies to consumers, not to schools and/or foundations:
Unless you object, Jungle the Bungle shares your email address with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google to show you relevant advertisements from Jungle the Bungle. These advertising networks compare the email addresses we provide with existing Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google profiles. If you have an account with Google, LinkedIn and/or Facebook, you will then be shown advertisements for similar products and/or services from Jungle the Bungle. Naturally, we never share more data than described here, nor do we ever share data of the child.
On the website, you can opt-out of this processing through the cookie settings.
Currently, we do not engage in marketing tracking via the app. We only share data with Google. The data is stored in GA4 for 14 months, but this does not include information that can be linked to an individual. You can object to the provision of relevant advertisements in your Parent Account.
- Automatically generated information
In order for Jungle the Bungle to work optimally (e.g. to display pages properly and to secure the website and the app), we need certain information. We therefore collect automatically generated information about your surfing behaviour during your use of Jungle the Bungle. This information consists of a part of the IP address (last 3 digits are XXX so the IP address cannot be traced), the type of browser (the computer programme used to view internet pages), the computer system you use, the pages you visit and we place cookies.
We use this information, among other things, to tailor our services as closely as possible to your preferences and to resolve technical problems and security issues.
For instance, we use the IP address, account number and pages/cookies to find out any unusual situations or to abort hacking attempts. For example, if we suddenly find a lot of usage of a certain account on multiple configurations, we can do something about it.
The browser data and computer system information help us understand how many people are using a particular configuration, allowing us to adjust the platform accordingly. Additionally, this information assists in troubleshooting, as we can precisely identify situations where issues have arisen.
This processing of your information is necessary for the protection of Jungle the Bungle's legitimate interests, namely Jungle the Bungle's interest in securely providing and maintaining the platforms in the most user-friendly way possible.
We also use this information to compile statistical data. For more information on this, see Chapter 13 (Research and Analysis). If the automatically generated information is collected using cookies, Chapter 12 (Cookies) also applies.
